⭐ UPDATE: Nearly to end PGY-3 now and graduate, and just finished taking the board exam this calendar week, 04/12/21 (beginning attempt; prelim consequence of pass), so figured I'd update my review on this at present that I've competed the test. I have reduced the rating to iii/five stars, mainly due to the fact that this volume didn't end upwards being my acme resource. The material is accurate and piece of cake to read, and although the topic format was to my liking (encounter original review below), the actual format of the text was harder to read through than I initially imagined. The book goes through multiple cases per topic, each with successive questions that mankind out each topic (encounter 2d image). While question/reply is a keen review tool, it was very difficult to do the questions without accidentally seeing the reply choice. Personally, I prefer the traditional arroyo for textbooks of bullet points or paragraphs about each topic with questions at the end and answers separately. Then I would use dedicated Qbanks for testing. Thus, I ended up using this book very sparingly in my prep, and ended up focusing on QBanks (ie. AAFP questions, past ITEs, UWorld) for my studying. To conclude, if you are the type that benefits from a textbook with a case based, question orientated format, and then this review book will work well, just if not, consider looking elsewhere or temper your expectations. Thus, considering this book does not use to everyone, specifically I believe the big majority of people, who prefer data based textbooks (my personal opinion from experience and observations), combined with the fact that I ended up using this very little in my prep, I have reduced my rating to 3/5.Original: Currently a PGY-2 Family Medicine resident and wanted an updated review book that covered the board examination cloth. This textbook fit that bill perfectly. I was hoping to get a head start on studying and then that I wouldn't have to worry almost cramming towards the terminate side by side year. I've merely had the chance to read a little of the book so far just it'south layout is great. Topics are by specialty (ie. Emergency medicine, Cards, Pulm, Sports medicine, etc.), which is my preferred way of reading, but I too think it'll be groovy for rotations since that'southward how nearly residency rotations are scheduled. Also throughout each section, they have multiple questions on the side confined that let for good feedback while you're reading. Volition update as I read more, only so far, very happy with my purchase!
